During the Industrial Revolution, the dark peppered moth had an advantage because it
can fly?
was dark in colour and was able to easily mix mix with its environment
it is fat
it is fast
it looked like poop so no one wanted to eat it
which was also dark in color due to high levels of smoke (due to industrial revolution). This provided it a type of camouflage against predators
@imaniwalker These dark peppered moths were part of an Industrial Revolution. During this time they underwent a process called evolution. When this happened they changed to better protect themselves from predators and improve themselves overall. One of these changes was a change in color as the color of the peppered moths were originally white but the peppered moths in the area had their color changed into a dark black. This helped them camoflauge in the smoke during the Industrial Evolution
@imaniwalker both the dark and light varieties of pepper moth were present at the time of Industrial revolution. But dark ones were better adapted as i just explained how they were able to evade there predators. This caused them to be naturally selected and hence there population increased over light colored pepper moths
infact before industrial revolution when smoke was less...light colored moths were better able to evade the predators. As black ones were odd one outs in the light background. But things changed after industrial revolution
Mhm
This process is called Industrial Melanism...:)
