Fourth Question Of The Day (F.Q.O.T.D.)

@anteater

OpenStudy (anteater):

What do you think on this one?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's multiplied by 3.

OpenStudy (anteater):

Look again. If it were multiplied by 3, that would have changed the height to 9. ;)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hmm. Changed by 2?

OpenStudy (anteater):

Yes :) They changed just one dimension by a factor of 2, and so the effect on the volume will be that it will also be increased by a factor of 2. Good. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So, I just have to double it?

OpenStudy (anteater):

Yep!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay, I'm going to ask another question and see if I can get it right.

OpenStudy (anteater):

The reason the previous problem was different was because they were messing with the radius, rather than the height. And in the formula for area, you square the radius. So doubling the radius results in quadrupling the area, and thereby also quadrupling the volume.

Are you putting the new problem here or posting again?
