OpenStudy (emmy1):

Please, please, please help!!! I will fan and medal!!!! Solve the system of inequalities by using the substitution method. Show work. y <= x - 2 x + 3y >= 6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

There are many solutions to this..do you have choices?

OpenStudy (emmy1):

No... I'm supposed to use the substitution method?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah, substitute y in the first equation to the one in the second. x + 3y ≥ 6 x + 3(x - 2) ≥ 6 x + 3x - 6 ≥ 6 4x - 6 ≥ 6 4x ≥ 12 x ≥ 3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Did you see what I did there?

OpenStudy (emmy1):

... To be honest, no. I don't get any of it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well I substituted y <= x - 2 into x + 3y >= 6. I substitute it by putting (x - 2) in for 'y' in x + 3y >= 6.

OpenStudy (emmy1):

Wow your smart lol. Thank you so much!!!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks :) No problem.
