11. Teesha is in French Club. There are 10 freshman, 12 sophomores, 15 juniors, and 30 seniors in the club. The advisor is going to randomly choose one of the members of the club to be a guide for an important visitor. Find the probability that she will not choose a freshman. (1 point)

OpenStudy (amistre64):

how many not a freshman are there to choose from?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

one idea is a complement, which is saying that sometimes its easier to find "how many are freshman" and subtract that probability from 1

OpenStudy (amistre64):

1 - P(is a freshman) = P(not a freshman)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

57/64

OpenStudy (amistre64):

either way you still have to add them all up to determine the number in the sample eh

OpenStudy (amistre64):

10 freshman, 12 sophomores, 15 juniors, and 30 seniors in -------- 67 total ... so im thinking 64 as a bottom aint gonna cut it

OpenStudy (amistre64):

57 out of 67 are not freshmen, since 10 are freshmen
