Is this correct??? 4a^2 * 5b^3=20ab^5????????????????????????

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

you can't go from a^2*b^3 to b^5 you only add the exponents when it's over the same base you have 2 difference bases "a" and "b", so you just leave it as a^2b^3

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

if you had a^2*a^3, then it would be a^5 or if you had b^2*b^3, then it would be b^5

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

So it should be 4a^2 * 5b^3 = 20a^2b^3
