Which element would most likely form an ionic bond with nitrogen (N)

Well, an ionic bond is a bond between a metal and a nonmetal atom. Nitrogen is a nonmetal with an oxidation number (charge) of 3-. One metal atom that could ionically bond with N is Ca, 2+. Forming the ionic formula for N3+ and Ca2+ to be Ca3N2. The least electronegative atom always goes first in the formula.
