The most common kidney stones are formed by the precipitation of calcium oxalate monohydrate (CaC2O4H2O, Ksp = 2.3 x 10-19). A patient suffers from hyperoxaluria such that his urine oxalate concentration is elevated to 3.0 x 10-12 mol dm-3 . If the pH of the urine is 6.0 and the Ca2+ concentration is 3.0 x 10-3 M, will the patient be at risk of forming calcium oxalate monohydrate kidney stones? Justify your answer.
