@christy1996 Well, he got amazingly lucky and actually picked traits that are simple dominant/recessive, which is rather amazing actually. If we look at what Mendel did, he kept crossing the same phenotypes over and over again. Why would you do thins? Why did he keep crossing these plants over and over again? Hint: true breeding.

@christy1996 Okay, I'll give more info. True breeding populations are populations that are homozygous for the trait that is being selected for. So, Mendel kept self crossing until he had TT plants, though he was not quite aware of this fact at the time, but his experiments did prove this.
