please help what is the hypotenuse of a right triangle? * If you decide to use the Pythagorean Theorem, please tell me how the hypotenuse relates to the other two sides

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

It would be the longest leg of the right triangle |dw:1402516050362:dw|

OpenStudy (isaiah.feynman):

The hypotenuse is the longest side of such a triangle. The square of the length of the hypotenuse is the SUM of the squares of the other two sides, by the Pythagorean theorem.

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

And when using the pythagorean theorem... \[\large a^2 + b^2 = c^2\] it states that the hypotenuse squared is equal to the sum other 2 legs of the triangle squared
