Using a sheet of graph paper, solve the following system of equations graphically. Be sure to show any work, use a straight edge, and be neat. When you are finished, enter the solution set in the box below and turn in your graph paper to your teacher. x + y = 0 x - y + 2 = 0 Can anyone maybe take a picture of them graphing this and send it as a reply or to me? I don't know how to do it. Please help!

There are two methods to solve this question : 1) Substitution 2)Elimination Which one would you prefer ? Elimination is easier..
I think i already have the answer, I just don't how to graph it. Here's my answer. So for the first one it would be: X - 0 = 0 Y = 0 Y - 0 = 0 X = 0 The second would be: X - 0 + 2 = 0 X = -2 Y - 0 + 2 = 0 Y = - 2
That is incorrect. Here is what you do over solving this type of problem. Add them..... Lets see x + y = 0 x - y + 2 = 0 ------------- < Try adding them up and tell me what you get. --------------
y = -x for the first one then x + 2 = y or y = x + 2 for the second one.
?
Solving graphically means graphing each line and then the solution is the ordered pair (x,y) of the intersection point. So take each equation and put it in y=mx+b form and then graph them both on the same graph.
x=-1 y=+1
