When you're asked to find the rate constant, is that the same a the rate law?

The rate constant is a part of the rate law. The rate law is the equation for the overall reaction rate and the rate constant is usually denoted by 'k' and is multiplied by the concentration of your reactant. So for example the rate law will look kind of like this with the rate constant in there: \[rate = k*[reactant]\]
