A student was observing slides of cell division. In one of the slides, he noticed loosely coiled chromatin depicting DNA duplication. Which phase of the cell cycle could it be? S phase Metaphase M phase

OpenStudy (abhisar):

It will be M-phase, it stands for division phase or mitotic phase

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i thought it will be s

OpenStudy (abhisar):

I think u r correct, DNA duplication takes place in S phase

OpenStudy (abhisar):

Pls cross check though

OpenStudy (abhisar):

@alphadxg

OpenStudy (alphadxg):

Chromatin is condensed during S-phase and also replicated during S phase to become easier to see thing (Chromosomes).

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What is the role of DNA helicase during DNA replication? to unwind the duplex DNA to attach primers to the replicating strands to add bases in the sugar-phosphate backbone

OpenStudy (abhisar):

Chromatin starts condensing in prophase

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i need help in a cople more if thats ok wwith yall

OpenStudy (abhisar):

Pls post one question per thread

OpenStudy (alphadxg):

Arghh, I didn't mean to say condensed, but S-phase is still correct.

OpenStudy (abhisar):

Yeah..it's correct

OpenStudy (abhisar):

Chromatin is loosely interwined in S phase
