First add the like terms. Can you name the like terms in the expression?
No It's not that it's the parenthses
Ash, you can remove the parentheses then. (a+b) + c = a + b + c
So, you can write \((14x^2 + 7x) + 9x^2\) as \(14x^2 + 9x^2 + 7x\)
So the parentheses do't matter?

Here, the parentheses will not matter.
If that was multiplication instead of addition, then we wouldn't be able to remove the parantheses. But, here, we can remove them.

:-) Now, you can add 14x^2 and 9x^2 as they both are like terms. And then add 7x which will give the final answer.
