When I graph the derivative of a function, do I just derive it and then graph the derivative ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\frac{x}{dx}~(~x^3+x+1~)\]

OpenStudy (marissalovescats):

Yes you derive it and graph it. You can use the power rule to derive this, should be easy but I can show you if you need

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The derivative is \[x^2+1\] and then y-intercept (0,1) x-intercepts are all imaginary. x=± 1, y=2 x=± 2, y=5 x=± 3, y=10 x=± 4, y=17 U shaped parabola.

OpenStudy (marissalovescats):

No that's not the derivative
