a line passes through the point (-3,-4) and its y-intercept is (0,9). what is the equation of the line that is parallel to the first line and passes through the point (3,-7)? a. y=3/5x+2 b. y=5/3x+2 c. y=-5/3x-2 d. y=5/3x-2
Looks as tho' we're comparing two parallel lines. Remember: if two lines are parallel, they have the same slope. If the given line passes through (-3,-4) and has y-intercept (0,9), we could re-write that to say "the given line passes thru (-3,-4) and (0,9). Use the slope formula to obtain the slope of this line. Now we need to find the equation of a new line parallel to the given one. We know the slope of this line and one paoint on the line. Use the point-slope formula for the equation of a straight line to find the equation of this new ilne.

Sorry, BIGG, but my aim is always to help the other person to learn how to solve his or her own problems. I don't just give out answers without involving you in same concrete and positive way. Please look up "point-slope form" and write it out here.
