How many moles are present in 10.5 grams of NaCl? this is another significant digits one.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@sweetburger sorry one more! i know it's either 0.180 mols or 0.18 mols

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think the answer would have to have 3 significant figures, right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

since 0,180 has 3 significant digits, do you think that would be the correct answer?

OpenStudy (sweetburger):

10.5/58.4428 = .18 moles not exactly sure

OpenStudy (sweetburger):

I dont remember all the sig fig rules so .18 could be correct

OpenStudy (matt101):

It would be 0.180 mol. When you multiply or divide, the result has the same number of sig figs as the number with the fewest sig figs you used in the calculation.
