An object is acted on by the force shown in the figure I'll provide. Thanks in advanced What is the final position of the object if its initial position is x = 0.40 m and the work done on it is equal to -0.19 J?

First, remember this equation: \[W=F \Delta d\] W is work F is applied force Δd is the change in displacement (final - initial) We have work and initial displacement already. Looking at the graph, we also have force - when x=0.40 m, F=0.8 N. We can plug these values into the equation to solve for the final displacement (d): -0.19 = 0.8 x (d - 0.4) d = 0.1625 m
