are we allowed to give answers immediately? MOST of the people who are answering the questions give the answers without the explanation and solution. Thus, most students just wants the answer. Are we allowed to use yahoo answers? I found some of the people used yahoo answers to answer the questions. Did the OS rule and COC changed?

OpenStudy (compassionate):

Well, this is kind of vague and varies person-from-person. Do we encourage it? No. Is it against the rules? Yes. You see, the inaugural problem with using other sources is that citations are rarely submitted. It's not something you'd get suspended over, but you may get called out on it. If you claim it as your own content and a moderator finds you're stealing content, they might issue a punishment. There is also legal issues that involve stealing content and posting it without a source, which you can find outlined in the \( \large\bf OpenStudy~\underline{\href{ /terms-and-conditions }{Terms~and~Conditions}}\) As for posting direct answers, yes, it is against the rules. First offenders may be smacked on the wrist, however, representative behavior will result in more severe punishment. \(\bf\color{red}{\href{/code-of-conduct}{Read:~Code~of~Conduct}}\)

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

If you post from somewhere else, cite the source. Do your best to lead a person to THEM finding the answer. For example, lets say it is multiple choice. Rather than give an answer, talk with the person about what and how things can be eliminated. See what they know is wrong. Help them find what is right. And perhaps link a source that has the answer in there somewhere, just not directly. Something where they need to read a little and learn.

NObody is supposed 2 just give u an answer but every does anyway:(

thomaster (thomaster):

Report them if they do, and make sure you put the reason in the comment box.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

When I tried to explain first, other people already gave an answer.

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Which is where your reports help. It lets us know who needs a nudge in the right direction so we can help steer them to being a part of tutoring and not doing work for others.

oh ok... THanks
