A sample of pure ethylene C2H, contains 1.8 X10^24 of carbon atoms. How many moles of ethylene are in this sample

OpenStudy (aaronq):

First you have to divide the number of carbon atoms by 2 because in ethylene, \(C_2H_2\), there are two. With this number, you now have the number of molecules. Divide the molecules by avogadro's number to get the moles. \(\sf moles=\dfrac{molecules}{avogadro's~number}\)
