6 – 4(3 – 5)^2 + 30 ÷ 5? can someone help with the order key

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Just remember: Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sally Parentheses then Exponents then Multiplication or Division (doesn't matter which first) then Addition or Subtraction (doesn't matter which first. 6 - 4(3-5)^2 +30 divided by 5 (sorry can't find the division key) So first we do the parentheses:

(3-5) = (-2) Then we do the exponents (-2)^2 = 4

We then have the equation => 6 - 4(4) + 30 divided by five So we can choose whether to divide or multiply first as it doesn't matter, we'll do it all before starting to subtract or add. this give -4(4) = -16 and 30 divided by 5 = 6 This gives the equation => 6 - 16 + 30 and you can take it from here :)
