The alkali metals are all grouped together on the periodic table. All of the following explain this grouping except They are all highly reactive. They have one valence electron. They occur in nature as pure elements. Many are essential to some life functions.

Yes @Abmon98 is correct, alkali elements are group 1 elements like Li, Na etc. These have a general electronic configuration of nS\(^1\). These are highly reactive and henece are not found in free form in nature.
