Molecules of diatomic elements contain polar covelent bonds. Asnswer : False. Is it false because diatomic elements contain 2 non metal elements of the same making them covalent bond but since they are the same, it makes them non-polar. Is this the reason to why is this false?
no its false again because of electronegativity
mostly its non polar becuase electrons are shared evenly between the 2 atoms in diatomic molecule
in case of Florine its polar, because of its very high electronegativity
So from all Diatomic elements, the only reason is false is because of Florine?
no no no its false because as i said electrons are shared evenly did watch the vid i gave the link for in previous question?
when electrons are shared evenly --- non polar when unevenly --- polar
Yes I know but Diatomic elements are H2, N2, O2, F2, Cl2, Br2 , I2
so far what I understood, those of 7 valence electrons usually wants to grab more than normal so that is what makes them polar. am I right? Meanwhile lower than 6 valence electrons don't tend to do that and make a non polarity one. Example H2 = non polar
hmm kinda right but not really as u know electonegativity increases across the period and from bottom to up in groups
Yes from left to right and bottom to up
thats why F is most electronegative element and that is the reason for its molecule F2 to be polar covalent other diatomic molecules are all non polar as far as i know
so Fluorine is the only diatomic element to do that kind of problematic stealing of electrons issue =.=?
lol yes that's right
When I said that, you answered "no no no its false because as i said electrons are shared evenly did watch the vid i gave the link for in previous question? " =.=
So from all Diatomic elements, the only reason is false is because of Florine? lol this is opposite way round the reason its false is because of ALL DIATOMIC elements lol
uh oh right. Fluorine is the only polar while the rest are non polars =.=. Thanks!
u r welcome :))
