Rate of Reactions: How can I explain the difference in my values of reaction rates using the pseudo rate law and using the tangent method? I calculated the percent error, and received a 15.0%. My rate of reaction using the pseudo rate law is higher than the value derived from using the tangent to the graph of my experimental values. Apart from human error, what else could cause this deviation?

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

tangent method - the slope of the tangent line \[\frac{ dy }{ dx }\]

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

it is the rate at an instant

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

do you know what is going on in a reaction rate?

OpenStudy (agent_a):

I have all my values already. I just wanted to know the possible reasons for the difference in my pseudo rate value and tangent line rate value.

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

that means you either derived incorrectly or didn't make an accurate recording of the experimental data.
