how does temperature increase rate of reaction

OpenStudy (anonymous):

daaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh

OpenStudy (abhisar):

What do u think it should be ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@dandanfanfan1 No need for the attitude, people on here are taking time out of their days to help you. This does type of behavior does not make me inclined to help you.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

THATS WHY WERE ASKING DUUUUUUUUH

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sorry please help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@dandanfanfan1 What does heat do? What happens to water molecules when you start to heat water?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

they evaporate

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@dandanfanfan1 Yes, but they start moving faster. Fast enough to escape the surface tension of the water. So, the reasoning behind increased enzyme activity and temp is partially based on this. Does that make sense?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ya

OpenStudy (abhisar):

increasing the temperature means that the molecules move faster, so they collide more frequently. More frequently molecules collide, the faster the reaction. However, it's not just how frequently they collide, but with how much energy. The hotter it is, more is kinetic energy of the particles. So, more energy, more movement and thus, more frequent collisions.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks so much

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@dandanfanfan1 There is on last part. Enzymes need to be the correct shape to work and part of what keeps them the correct shape is temp. Since this is only part, the natural temp the enzyme occurs at may not be the optimal temp and increasing the temp makes the enzyme hold the correct shape even better.

thank you xxxxxxxxxxx
