Not sure. :/

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

Since both sides are log base 6, the expressions must be equal. If \(\ \large log_b x = \log_b y\) then \(\large x = y\).

Can you help me step by step @mathstudent55

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

Just set 5x - 5 equal to 3x + 7 and solve the equation.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Could you show me how to put it in the calculator

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

I don't know, but this can be solved easily. 5x - 5 = 3x + 7 Subtract 3x from both sides 2x - 5 = 7 Add 5 to both sides 2x = 12 Divide both sides by 2 x = 6 Now check 6 in the original equation to make sure 6 is an allowed value for x.
