OpenStudy (anonymous):

Which has the weakest ion-ion interaction MgO, KF, CaCl2, KBr, or CaO?

OpenStudy (abmon98):

The strength of the bond between the ions of opposite charge in an ionic compound therefore depends on the charges on the ions and the distance between the centers of the ions when they pack to form a crystal. Look for the compound which have a lower charge which are KF and KBR. look for whose more electronegative compound, yes potassium fluoride is therefore it has a greater ionic character therefore the weakest ion-ion interaction compound is KBr
