Subscripts and coefficients are used to balance chemical equations so that the same number of atoms appear on each side of a chemical equation. true or false

What do you think?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If I gave you the chemical equation: \[2H+O \rightarrow 2H_2O\] How would you balance that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Add 2 more oxygen

OpenStudy (anonymous):

one more sorry

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No quite. Because on the right we see for every 1 Hydrogen there is actually 2 then we have 2 times 2 = 4 Hydrogen and 2 oxygens. Do you see that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So we must actually multiply the left side by 2 to get 4 hydrogens and 2 oxygens

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes :)
