solve the following equation using the substitution 2^x=u 2^x+2^2-x=5 (4^x)-3(2^x)=10 2^(2x+1)-11(2^x)+15=0

take your time these are three seperate equation
We need to say somehow that u^2+something-u=5 so we can solve for u and then substitute 2^x in the answer to get our solution...
Square each term in the equation maybe.
\[2^x + 2^{2-x}=5\]Write it something like this:\[2^x + \dfrac{2^2}{2^x}=5\]It should be clearer now.
