Lets look at D->E (smaller) and I->J (larger)
D->E (4, 6) -> (7, 4) 4->7 is 3 units of x we move 6->4 is -2 units of y we move I->J (-3, 2) -> (3, -2) -3->3 is 6 units of x we move 2->-2 is -4 units of y we move It looks like the #'s double in each case right?

So I->J on the bigger figure is two times longer than the corresponding line D->E on the smaller figure.
