Aloha, lilia222!
Bonjour! :D
@IMStuck Aloha, welcome back dear :))
What is point K? and K ' ?
I'm using sides JK and J'K' as my two sides of comparison. Side JK has a length of 2 units, can you tell how many units long J'K' is?
I was at work for several hours...but I couldn't wait to get back on here and do more math stuff! ; )
point K is 2, 4 and K' is 4,8 ? -I'm glad :)
the x coordinate of K is 2 the x coordinate of K' is 4 the y coordinate of K is 4 the y coordinate of K' is 8 what's the rule to go from K to K ' ?
jim_thompson5910 is showing you how to relate the points to the origin to find out the scale change. I used the length of the sides to find the scale change, but they are both going to come out the same. What did you do the 2 to make it a 4? What did you do to the 4 to make it an 8? Keep in mind that you have to do the same thing to both the 2 andd the 4. You can't add to one an then multiply to the other. What is the rule?
2 and 4
You have to do the same thing to the 4 that you do to the 2. That is to...what? Are you getting this or do you need a clue as to what I'm asking.
no, I'm confused on what you're asking
Like 2 + 2 = 4, but 4 + 2 does not equal 8. so you know you are not just adding 2 to both.
You are actually multiplying the 2 by a 2, and the 4 by a 2. 2 * 2 = 4, and 4 * 2 = 8. So your scale factor is 2.
no we're multiplying by 2
Yes! Good! Very good! Yay for you!
... @IMStuck so it's B?
yep!!!
.. you made this a lot more easier than I expected..
