4.00g of NaOH are dissolved in water to make 2.00L of solution. What is the concentration of hydronium ions, [H3O+], in this solution?

OpenStudy (abb0t):

Concentration is defined as moles per Liter, meaning: \(\sf \color{Red}{\frac{moles~of~n}{liter~of~solution}}\) so, all you have to do is find the moles of 4.00 grams of sodium hydroxide, then divide by 2.00 L.

OpenStudy (abb0t):

Can yo do that?

OpenStudy (aaronq):

you also need to use: \(\sf K_w=[H_3O^+][OH^-]=1.0*10^{-14}\)

OpenStudy (abb0t):

Oh, right. I totally forgot. Thanks, @aaronq
