OpenStudy (anonymous):

.. I don't want to push this, but I just thought it was a circle- like most people do , lol..

A great circle, also known as an orthodrome or Riemannian circle, of a sphere is the intersection of the sphere and a plane which passes through the center point of the sphere. (Wikipedia) The answer is Great Circle.

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

It's not just any circle, it's a great circle. A great circle is a circle of a sphere that has the same center as the sphere (so same radius and diameter too) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_circle

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Why couldn't we have said that the moment I said "it could be a great circle..." ...thanks

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Because I had to Google: Great Circle to be sure and get the answer from Wikipedia =P
