OpenStudy (anonymous):

can someone help me to solve .?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Rewrite each function into the form \[f(x)=a(x-b)^{2}+k\] 1.\[f(x)=2x ^{2}+16x+33\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Can you write \(2x^2 + 16x + 33 = 2(x^2 + 8x) + 33\) ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[f(x)=2x ^{2}+16x+33\]\[2(x ^{2}+16x+33)\]\[=2(x ^{2}+8x+\frac{ 64 }{ 4})+33-\frac{ 64 }{ 2}\]\[=2(x+\frac{ 8 }{ 2 })^{2}+\frac{ 33-64 }{ 2}\]\[=2(x+\frac{ 8 }{ 2})^{2}-\frac{ 31 }{ 2}\] a=2 h=-8/2 k=-31/2 v=-8/2,-31/2 I don't know if my answer is correct.?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You have done it but there is a correction 33 - 64/4 =( 66-64 )/2 = 1 and put 8/2 = 4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

huh? I don't get it..?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What is \( 33 - \frac{64}{2}\) ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-31/2 ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No. \(33-\frac{64}{2} = 33-32 = 1\)
