medal + fan!!!!!The graph of following ordered pairs: 1,1 2,3 4,7 5,9 x y 3 7 8 17 10 21

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (zehanz):

You need y as function of x? The formula is y=ax+b

OpenStudy (zehanz):

You can find a and b if you know how to read the graph.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oops heres the question Does the graph represent the same equation as the table? Explain

OpenStudy (zehanz):

What do you think?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no

OpenStudy (zehanz):

Why?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

cuz there not even the same numbers, I just wanted to make sure.....that I wasn't SOMEHOW being tricked!!

OpenStudy (zehanz):

You could have been tricked, because the numbers need not be the same. BUT: the same x's should come with the same y's, so the graph gives you x=4, y=7 and the table says x=3, y=7, so that can never be the same formula. (I assume the formula should be that of a linear function...)

OpenStudy (zehanz):

If the formula can be any function, I could imagine that both the graph and the table can have the same (more complicated) formula.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

..... so the answer would be no, because the same X's should come with the same Y's

OpenStudy (triciaal):

yes same slope and

OpenStudy (triciaal):

sorry no y = 2x -1 is the equation for the graph y = 2x + 1 is the equation from the table

OpenStudy (zehanz):

Here are all the points in one graph (blue and red points)

OpenStudy (zehanz):

You cannot fit them into one line...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok
