How do you simplify (-4x^2/xz^2)^3? The options are A. -64x^2/z^6 B. 64x^3/z^6 C.-64/x^3 z^6 D. -64x^3/z^6 I think the answer is B

OpenStudy (imstuck):

Take each and every one of those things inside the parenthesis to the 3rd power...all of it, one at a time.

OpenStudy (imstuck):

Right off you will see that B is incorrect because -4^3 is a negative number, not a positive one.

OpenStudy (imstuck):

And when you take an exponent to another power, like\[(x ^{2})^{3}\]You mulitply the exponents to get x^6. Does that help you?

Yes it does thank you!
