The slope of a line that is perpendicular to a line whose slope is -2/7 is

geerky42 (geerky42):

the product of slopes that are perpendicular to each other is always -1 \(m_1m_2=-1\) you are given one of the slope \(m_1 = -\dfrac{2}{7}\), so plug in and solve for other slope.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

To find the slope of a line perpendicular to another line, you take the opposite reciprocal. For example, if the slope is 1. Then the opposite of 1 is -1. The reciprocal of -1, is -1/2 So the slope of -1/2 is a line that is perpendicular to a line with slope 1.

Very nice explanation @geerky42 !!

geerky42 (geerky42):

thanks :) what we explained so far, can you find this slope? @natasha.........

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you guys

geerky42 (geerky42):

welcome
