What does f(–x) mean?

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

it means to replace x with -x in the function e.g if you are given f(x) = 3x + 7 then f(-x) = 3(-x) + 7

So, it means x is negative?

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

it does.... its simply a case of substitution... like saying x = 4 find f(4) so replace x with the number 4... here is just -x

Okay, thanks. :)
