Find inverse f^-1(x) of each of these functions, and check by showing that (f o f^-1)(x) = x A) f(x) = 6x-1 B) f(x) = 7/2x+4

OpenStudy (astrophysics):

To find the inverse: Replace f(x) with y Switch x's and y's, so put x where y is and x where y is. Solve for y Replace y with f^-1(x)

This is what I got

OpenStudy (astrophysics):

Mhm Looking at your first problem, there is a algebra problem. x = 6y-1 6y= x+1 that's what it should be, not x-1

Thanks

How's the second one looking

OpenStudy (astrophysics):

Second one is good up to the point where you started to distribute the 1/2.
