The idea here is to combine all your like radicands. The square root of 6 is as simplified as it's going to get, but I bet when you simplify the square roots of 54 and 24, you will get either square root of 6 as their radicands or two different radicands that alike. You can only add and subtract radicands that are alike. Like this:
