The center of a circle is at the origin. An endpoint of a diameter of the circle is at (-3, -4). How long is the diameter of the circle? @texaschic101

|dw:1405444883563:dw|If you can follow this, the endpoint is at (-3,-4), and the x distance is -3 and the y distance is -4, so you need to find x, which is half the diameter (which is what you are looking for) but it is also the hypotenuse of that right triangle. Can you use pythagorean's theorem to find x?

OpenStudy (imstuck):

once you find the value of x, multiply it by 2 because what you find will be the radius of the circle, or half the diameter. To find the whole diameter, multiply it by 2.
