What is an epsilon? I bre8fly looked it up but did not find much. He did not give a definition so I assume that it is a mathematics term that will be taught later in my schooling, for I am only in 9th grade. Thanks, Harrison
sorry I meant briefly. I am typing on an onscreen keyboard.
Epsilon Epsilon (uppercase Ε, lowercase ε or lunate ϵ; Greek: έψιλον) is the fifth letter of the Greek alphabet, corresponding phonetically to a close-mid front unrounded vowel /e/. In the system of Greek numerals it has the value five. It was derived from the Phoenician letter He

Hello Harrison, to add to the information about epsilon; epsilon is a variable that we generally use to specify extremely small values. It is mainly known as the infinitesimal constant used in analysis(calculus) for the formal definition of the limit of a function. It's also used to denote the limit ordinal of a sequence in set theory. so you're right, epsilon is a term that is used in advanced (hardcore) maths, that's super duper interesting, but again it's just a variable. Keep in mind that we could've used any other symbol and it wouldn't have changed anything.
Epsilon in mathematics is a very small possible POSITIVE number. Example 0.00001, 0.00000124, e.t.c.
Epsilon is the margin of error. If you want an answer to a certain accuracy, you would say you want an answer with an epsilon of that accuracy, e.g. .000001, .4325.
