OpenStudy (anonymous):

well sin k = 5 / 10 = 1/2 so what is k? do you know that sin of which angle would be 1/2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sin = Opposite/Hypotenuse, K is your reference angle for the triangle, which means: sin(k) = o/h sin(k) = 5 / 10 sin(k) = 1/2 http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/4/4c/Unit_circle_angles_color.svg/720px-Unit_circle_angles_color.svg.png Look at this unit circle, and look at the 2nd number for each angle

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but @larryboxaplenty , that circle is a liitle confusing for her i think...;)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It can be confusing. sin(30 degrees) is always 1/2 Likewise, sin(30+180 degrees) is also 1/2, because the angle just made one rotation.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes but have u ever seen 210 degrees in a triangle ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You should know the sin, cos, and tan of the following degrees: 0, 30, 45, 90. (I think I may be missing one). If you know these, everything else repeats if they perfect numbers like these

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If you are dealing with angles such as 210 degrees, then the values will be different.

*200 degrees
