Walk me through this

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

E-f is 72

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You are looking for a ratio. Can you find it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so A-B is 6 now B-C is half that so F-G is half 72

OpenStudy (anonymous):

H-G matches F-G

OpenStudy (anonymous):

EF to AB is 72/6. This can be further simplified to 12/1.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait what?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how is it 72/6 if its the same thing but smaller scale .-.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Guys I'm so confused

OpenStudy (anonymous):

k lemme try explaining

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the big one is a bigger scale to the small one

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so basically the same length but bigger.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A-B is 6 so E-Fis 72

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for every 1 in the smaller one that would equal 12 inn the big one

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I just did this exact same problem a few days ago and got it correct. I can walk you through this

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i basically just explained the whole thing :l

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Since ABCD is a similar scale of EFGH, you use a ratio to find the total length of the actual walkway. @chucho78 is correct, with every side of ABCD you multiply it by 12 since the ration is 12/1. AB is 6 --- 6x12=72 BC is 3 --- 3x12=36 CD is 3--- 3x12=36 DA is 4 ---4x12=48 Add all of the products together and you get 120 feet

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hurray math!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@CaseyCarns did you get it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I did thank you both!
