Okay so the original equations is: -6x - 2 + 3x - 9x = 6 The first step would be to add like terms so starting from the left.. -6x + 3x - 9x -2 = 6 -3x - 9x - 2 = 6 -12x - 2 = 6 -12x = 6 + 2 -12x = 8 x = -8/12
