By looking at end behavior, you can find out if the function has a positive or negative coefficient for the highest degree* and if the highest degree is an odd or even number. *For the function f(x) = 2x^3+x^2+1, the coefficient for the highest degree (3) would be 2. Plus, the graph of x^3 and x^5 both have the same end behavior. How do you know if it's x^3 or x^5 if both graphs go up at the ends?
