Let f(x) = 3x - 6 and g(x) = x - 2. Find and its domain. A. 3; all real numbers B. -3; all real numbers except x = 3 C. 1; all real numbers D. 3; all real numbers except x = 2

OpenStudy (joannablackwelder):

Are we supposed to be finding a function?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes .... i already did the problem but idk how to do domain several ppl tried to explain it but i just dont understand it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

use mathway type in the equation and click on find the domain

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it also explains how to do the problem

OpenStudy (anonymous):

never heard of mathway thank you

OpenStudy (joannablackwelder):

I can't help with the domain unless I know what the function is. Is it f(x)/g(x)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yup! :)

OpenStudy (joannablackwelder):

The domain of a function is all of the values of x for which the function is real.

OpenStudy (joannablackwelder):

And the only way to have unreal functions is to have a zero in the denominator (division by zero) or a negative inside an even root.

OpenStudy (joannablackwelder):

Since this problem doesn't have any roots, let's think about the division by 0 possibility, ok?
