Cylinder lateral area: Since diameter is 6 mm, radius of pencil is 3 mm. 2pi r (h) = 2pi (3)(100) = 600 pi = 1884.955.. Now lateral area of a cone = \[\pi r \sqrt{r ^{2}+h ^{2}}\] so pi(3) rad ((3^2 + 15^2)) = 144.17.. Add the 2 areas if the problem ask for total area of the pencil Answer: 2029.127 mm = 202.913 cm
