there are two lines you need to graph. so for the first inequality: you find the y intercept and the slope. we see that the y intercept is -2 and the slope is -2. (-2/1 . so down two and one to the right...) that line will be a solid line and the information above the line is shaded in. for the second equation it is the line y=x. which is a straight line from the origin . and again, a solid line with the information above the graph shaded. then you will see where the two shaded areas overlap

question 2., part A- you can rewrite it as : y=2^2(-x). and when you set that equal to the other equation (by replacing it for y) you get 2^-2x =2^(x+3). and when you have the same bases, you can just set the exponents to each other. so you get -2x=x+3. and you get x=-1
