What is the center of the circle with the equation x2 + y2= 9? Wouldn't it be (3,3) or (0,9)? :/

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

the general form is \[(x - h)^2 + (y - k)^2 = r^2\] (h, k) is the centre and r is the radius... so match this to your equation.

I'm sorry I don't understand I'm new at this but how would I plug x2 and y2 to that?

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

x^2 + y^2 is always a circle with a centre at the origin. 9 is the square of the radius.... so the radius is 3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so (0,3)?? -_-
