can I please be helped with this problem?? It very simple

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

if it is so simple, then why do you ask?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[12\frac{ 2 }{ 3 }-\frac{ 3 }{ 5 }\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

haha XD

OpenStudy (anonymous):

because I know im doing something particulary wrong, but I dont see it

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

\[\frac{2}{3}=\frac{10}{15}~~~~~~~~~~~~~~\frac{3}{5}=\frac{9}{15}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

haha good one @SolomonZelman

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

tnx:)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

my answer is supposed to be \[12\frac{ 1 }{ 15 }\]

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

Yes !

OpenStudy (anonymous):

uhm, Im sorry are you guys here to help me or to make fun of me?

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

I am serious, that's the answer. Idk what I am here for though, people have various opinions about that.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

not at all srry if it offended

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no i just liked @SolomonZelman answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how did you get to 2/3 and 3/5?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

they are part of the equation you have

OpenStudy (anonymous):

liked ur ans again :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol okay

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

the fractions were given in your question, so I don't really understand what you are trying to ask by how did you get to 2/3 and 3/5.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

all you needed to do was find the common factor and set it as the denominator

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes but how did you got to 10/15 and 9/15

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

@cludicate1223 you yourself said the answer, and then asking for help ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

becauseeee

OpenStudy (anonymous):

multiply denominator with the whole number and add the numerator

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

I multiplied top and bottom of the first fraction times 5, and top and bottom of second fraction times 3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

by that way u can convert the mixed number directly into fraction

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay I leave the 12 alone??"?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

because i keep getting 190/15

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh woww

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I seee now!!! thanks!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you guys @MaimiGirl @SolomonZelman

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ur welcome :)
